Imagine the food !

Imagine the food !

This is my second blog and my first post. I intend on making this all about my food and travel experiences. Hope it inspires you enough to want to travel also and try new things. For this first post, am just gonna be sharing the after pictures of a few dishes, yes just the pictures of the empty plate, perhaps you could try imagining the food, haha, the before image of the plate.  I got the idea from a Korean drama called Lets eat, and in it, the protagonist who is a food blogger, uses this style on his blog. So here goes….

Salad, Gokoku-mai, Japanese style steak, shrimp tempura with potatoes and miso soup

Gokoku-mai is mixed grain and rice, literally translated as 5 grains rice, and apparently its more nutritious than white rice. The miso soup contained abura-age, a fried tofu like thing 🙂 according to my lovely Japanese friend. This was my first time trying miso soup, so as you can see, I couldn’t finish it, but you get used to it, just like Japanese tea.

The Salad was good, the only new thing for me was that, it was topped with some fishy sauce, it wasn’t too strange for me, as I sometimes add sardines to my salad. The shrimp tempura was golden, and the Japanese steak was quite greasy, but I loved it anyway.

Seafood Omurice with cream croquette and tomato sauce

Aww, this was amazing, I probably didn’t get the name or order of the dish correct, but it contained everything in the caption. Omurice is an omelette made with fried rice, and is usually topped with ketchup. Mine had tomato sauce and cream. the combination of tomato sauce and the cream really worked, coming from a person who doesn’t understand why people would use any other type of cream except salad cream. As for the seafood, my meal contained  a generous serving of shrimp, scallop and mussel. It was a “fantabulous” meal.

you can guess this one ;)
you can guess this one 😉

Oh this was a glorious site to behold, and the food tasted just as glorious. This was a fish meal, whole fish in stew. I had this together with friends in a traditional style restaurant in Xian, China.

And that’s it friends for my first post. I do know the limitations of this post in that, I couldn’t provide the names of the restaurants, locations or even prices of the dishes. Please let it slide this time and look out for future posts which would contain more details.

If you can imagine it, you can cook it, haha and I said it!
